It's official....we are bloggers. Jesse and I decided to start a blog to keep up with all of our family near and far. We in NO way want this to replace our actual conversations with you all, but we know that it will help to share our adventures and recent pictures. After that intro I guess I'll get into our more recent adventure...
We were able to get away last weekend and decided to head for the mountains. Because I work every other weekend, we wanted to get to see some of the changing leaves before they disappeared and we missed our chance. We left Saturday morning and took our time driving to Salida so that we could enjoy some hiking along the way. It was a little early to see the colors at their best, but we found a favorite spot below Mt. Princeton where the colors were beautiful and the trails were in abundance. Here are a few pictures from our first official weekend away as a married couple.
One of our first stops was to take in the view of the collegiate mountains. The largest mountain in the middle of picture is Mt. Princeton where we spent most of our time.
Our first hike was up to the Agnes Vaille waterfall. It was only about 1 mile and was beautiful!
I guess there's another J & K out there...
Mark recommended that we drive out to the town of St. Elmo. It's a small little ghost town consisting of a small mainstreet, fantastic old buildings dated back to the 1880's, and a recently built white building to replace the townhall that burned in 2002. These days St Elmo seems to be visited primarily by ATV's and their owners. Driving in we passed nearly 30 trucks with trailers and their offroading ATV's.
Hope you enjoyed!
